The Nalwar and Deity festival in Dharampur, Mandi, will take place from April 4 to 9. A meeting chaired by MLA Chander Shekhar decided to form sub-committees for smooth event management. The festival will feature a range of activities, including sports competitions (marathon, volleyball, kabaddi, etc.), cultural events and performances by local artistes and invited performers, including those from Indian Idol. Five cultural evenings will be held, and auditions for artistes will take place on March 24 and 25. Government departments and self-help groups will set up stalls. Transportation will be provided for rural attendees and local deities will be invited to the festival.
