Nandita Gupta, IAS, has been appointed the Chief Electoral Officer of the state in place of Maneesh Garg. As per the notification from the Secretariat of the Election Commission of India, the state has been asked to relieve Garg immediately from the post so that he could join the Election Commission.
Meanwhile, Nandita Gupta has been asked to join as the state’s Chief Electoral Officer immediately. The commission has sought a compliance report of the order within a week.
