A national conclave on stone fruits will be held at Thanedhar, Kotgarh, tomorrow to discuss ways to take their cultivation in the region to the next level. Besides experts from across India, a technical expert from Spain and an official representing New Zealand will also attend the conclave.
“We are getting queries from farmers from across the country for the conclave. Farmers are coming from as far as Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra,” said Deepak Singha, president of the Stone Fruit Association of the state.
The conclave will bring together policy-makers, scientists and stone fruit farmers. “The conclave will focus on modernisation of stone fruit cultivation. Until now, stone fruits are cultivated through traditional methods,” said Singha.
