The state government is encouraging natural and organic farming to boost the economy of farmers and orchardists in the state, said Rajesh Dharmani, Technical Education Minister, while addressing a gathering at the Kisan Mela organised by the Agriculture Department under the aegis of the ATMA project in the Ghumarwin Assembly constituency.

Dharmani said that under the ATMA project, Rs 1.27 crore would be spent in the current fiscal year and over Rs 80 lakh had already been spent. He added the government was providing 50 per cent subsidy on the purchase of indigenous cows and transport expenses up to Rs 5,000.
