To ensure smooth celebrations and the safety of devotees during the ongoing Navratras, the Director General of Police (DGP), Himachal Pradesh, has directed all officers to strengthen security and traffic management around temples and pilgrimage sites. He emphasised close coordination with temple authorities and local administration to prevent inconvenience to the public.
The DGP instructed Superintendents of Police (SPs) to personally brief and debrief personnel on duty, while Inspector Generals (IGPs) and Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs) were asked to review the situation daily, focusing on crowd size, traffic flow and welfare of staff.
So far, 53,250 devotees have visited six major Shaktipeeths, including 10,500 at Shri Jawala Ji, 5,200 at Chintpurni and 5,000 each at Naina Devi and Chamunda Devi temples.
