NCC cadets meet Governor, share R-Day camp experiences
NCC cadets from Himachal Pradesh who participated in the Republic Day Camp 2025, met Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla at Raj Bhavan today and shared their experiences. A total of 93 cadets from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Chandigarh NCC Directorate took part in the camp, including 23 from Himachal Pradesh.
The Governor praised the cadets for representing the state at such a prestigious event, calling it a matter of pride for Himachal Pradesh. “NCC is not just an organisation but a platform for discipline, leadership, patriotism and service,” he remarked. He encouraged the cadets to utilize their training to become responsible citizens and contribute meaningfully to society.
Highlighting the state’s legacy as “Veer Bhoomi,” the Governor commended the youth for their contributions to national defense. “You are the flag bearers of this glorious tradition,” he told the cadets. Reiterating NCC’s motto, “Unity and Discipline,” he urged them to embody these values in their lives.
The Governor also called upon the cadets to take an active role in combating drug abuse by raising awareness in schools, colleges and local communities. “As responsible youth, you must not only stay away from drugs but also inspire others to do the same,” he said, emphasising their role in creating a Drug-Free Himachal Pradesh.
