Chamba, March 8
A naturalist from Chamba, Navneet Chowfla, has pleaded for publicizing local products. He said the district was famously known as the valley of ‘honey and milk’.
“Chamba grows everything, from mangoes to hazelnuts and birch trees. However, now no efforts are being made to help the district regain its glory,” said Chowfla.
He said Chamba was among aspirational districts of the country. Places famous for particular things should be redeveloped. He said Kiri was famous for red rice, Lilh for honey, Mehla for apricots, Kamala for basmati rice, Churah for milk and honey.
Pangi’s environment is good for the production of hazelnuts and Bharmour for high-class walnuts.
