Nepal native killed in Theog
A Nepalese labourer was murdered in Theog subdivision of Shimla district after allegedly being attacked with a sharp weapon by another Nepal native, who is currently absconding. The deceased has been identified as Sushil, while the accused, Paras Ram had been working as a labourer in Theog.
According to the complaint filed by Sanjeev Kumar, a resident of Juggo village, he had hired Paras Ram 15 days ago to work in his orchards and had provided him a shed near his residence for accommodation.
On March 31, Paras Ram informed Kumar that he was heading to Theog market for some work. However, on April 2, while Kumar was on his way to his orchard, he spotted a man lying unconscious and covered in blood. Upon closer inspection, he realised that the man had died. When he attempted to contact Paras Ram, he discovered that he was missing.
Kumar alleged that Paras Ram, under the influence of alcohol, may have murdered Sushil before fleeing the scene. The police recovered the body and sent for postmortem examination.
Confirming the incident, Theog DSP Siddharth Sharma said a case has been registered under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023.
