Nerchowk-Pandoh road stretch to close for two hours
The Nerchowk-Pandoh stretch of the Kiratpur-Manali highway in Mandi district will remain closed for two hours on February 22, 24 and 26 to facilitate cutting and blasting work for the four-lane road project. The road will be closed from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm on these days.
Mandi Deputy Commissioner Apoorv Devgan, who is also the Chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority, issued the orders stating that the Project Director, National Highways Authority of India, Mandi, had requested the closure of the road for a limited period for construction work to ensure the safety of the general public and vehicles.
The cutting and blasting work will be carried out by the construction company between Mile 4 and Mile 5 on the Nerchowk-Pandoh road stretch. The district administration has taken this step to ensure the safety of commuters and prevent any untoward incident during the construction work.
Commuters have been advised to plan their journeys accordingly and avoid travelling on this route during specified hours on February 22, 24 and 26. The district administration has appealed to the public to follow the instructions for their safety.
