New road to cut Ranital-Haripur distance by 8 km

A long-pending demand of the residents of the Thathad-Tripal-Mewa region is finally being fulfilled, with the announcement of a Rs 6.78 crore road project under the NABARD scheme, which will reduce the travel distance between Ranital and Haripur by 8 km.

As part of the “Vidhayak Gaon Ke Dwar” (MLA at the Village Doorstep) initiative, Dehra MLA Kamlesh Thakur visited Tripal panchayat on Thursday, where she directly engaged with locals and addressed their development concerns.

She announced that along this route, a 10-m bridge is already under construction at an estimated cost of Rs 23 lakh and another bridge over the Nagni rivulet on the Ranikhet-Lunsu via Tripal road will soon be built at a cost of Rs 50,000.

In addition, the region will see ongoing development works worth Rs 5.50 lakh, which include pathway construction and retaining walls, enhancing infrastructure in the panchayat. Highlighting employment generation, the MLA said the state government is set to recruit 2,000 workers in the electricity department, offering opportunities for youth in the region.

He also revealed plans for a zoo to be established near Tripal in Bankhandi, aimed at promoting tourism and creating local jobs.

The MLA was received by Panchayat representatives and villagers and was joined by key officials, including Executive Engineer Suresh Walia (PWD), Anish Thakur (Jal Shakti Department), Valesh Sharma (Electricity Department), Tripal Panchayat Pradhan Gurbachan Singh, BDC member Ranjit, former Pradhan Saroj, former Deputy Pradhan Avtar Guleria and local residents Krishan Chaudhary, Pawan, Mahesh and Inderjeet Singh, among others.
