The Chamba district administration has launched a new survey to identify the families eligible for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (PMAY). Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal said in a press statement that over 20,000 individuals in the Chamba district had been provided housing under the PMAY and efforts were now underway to ensure all remaining eligible families are provided housing by 2029.

Special emphasis will be given to families who are homeless or living in dilapidated or temporary structures. The Deputy Commissioner highlighted that the survey was being conducted using advanced digital methods, including a mobile app and paperless technology. Surveyors selected from each panchayat undergo e-KYC verification via the mobile app. All formalities for the survey have been completed across the district’s panchayats, and the exercise will involve 308 surveyors. Information about the assigned surveyors will be available at all development blocks.

Eligible families can also self-register by visiting the official website pmay.nic.in and submitting the required details through the “AwaasPlus2024 Survey New” link.
