NHM health schemes reviewed in Chamba

A monthly review meeting of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Chamba, was held under the chairmanship of Chief Medical Officer Dr Bipen Thakur.

The meeting reviewed the monthly reports submitted by Block Medical Officers and assessed the ongoing health-related schemes and activities being implemented under the Aspirational District Programme. He emphasised the need to further accelerate the progress of these programmes.

He said under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, in accordance with the Motor Vehicle Act of 1998, victims of road accidents admitted to a hospital within 48 hours are entitled to cashless treatment of up to Rs 1.5 lakh. This facility is available at both government and empanelled private hospitals, ensuring at least seven days of treatment. Directions regarding this have been issued to all Block Medical Officers.

The CMO also directed the BMOs to verify and submit the documents of eligible beneficiaries under the Sahara Scheme—an initiative by the Himachal Pradesh Government—so that the benefits could be extended to deserving individuals at the earliest.

District Health Officer Dr Kavita Mahajan reviewed the ongoing programmes under the National Health Mission and emphasised the need to improve their performance. She stressed the importance of full immunization, high-risk pregnancy care under PMSMA, Ayushman Arogya Health Camps, tele-consultations, IFA pink tablets distribution, BPHU, IDPCF campaigns, U-WIN, HMIS, RCH portal, antenatal/postnatal home visits (HBNC/HBYC), and the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP). She issued detailed directives for focused attention and proper evaluation of these initiatives.
