Kullu, February 14
The Kullu police arrested a Nigerian national from Delhi in cases related to seizure of heroin in the district.
Kullu SP Gaurav Singh said eight foreigners were arrested during the past couple of months and it was found during the investigation that the kingpin supplied heroin to them which they later sold to Himachal youths.
The SP said David, alias Ugochukwu John Obiako, was arrested from the Delhi railway station while he was going towards Goa yesterday. He said foreigners held in heroin cases revealed that they had procured the contraband from him. The accused was arrested under Section 29 of the NDPS Act and further investigations were underway.
David used fake mobile numbers and created groups on the social media which included Nigerians supplying and demanding heroin.
The SP said the accused was not able to produce any passport or visa and a case under Section 14 of the Foreigners Act had also been registered against him. He said the accused had also been arrested earlier for smuggling 100 gm of heroin in Delhi in 2018.
