To facilitate road tarring work, the Shimla district administration has announced a night-time traffic closure on the Talland to Khalini junction. According to an official order by Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap, the road will remain closed to all vehicles, except emergency services, from 10 pm to 5:30 am until May 30.

The decision was made following a request by the Executive Engineer of Himachal Pradesh PWD, Shimla Division No. III, and recommendations from the Superintendent of Police, Shimla. To ensure smooth traffic flow during the restricted hours, diversions have been planned through alternate routes.

Traffic from Talland to Khalini will be rerouted via Chhota Shimla–Brockhurst–Kasumpti. Buses coming from Upper Shimla to ISBT will travel via Chhota Shimla–Old Bus Stand–ISBT Tutikandi. Buses heading to the Old Bus Stand from BCS will be diverted to ISBT and then to MLA Crossing via Khalini. Likewise, buses going to BCS, New Shimla, or Vikasnagar from Old Shimla will follow the Old Bus Stand–ISBT–Lower Khalini–BCS route.

The executing agency has been instructed to ensure adequate safety measures, especially for pedestrians and schoolchildren. Residents and commuters are advised to plan their journeys in advance and cooperate with authorities during the maintenance period.
