Nine automatic weather stations to be set up in Shimla dist: DC
As many as nine automatic weather stations are to be established in Shimla district, out of which two have already been established at Khalag and Basantpur. This was stated by Shimla Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap while chairing a meeting with district officials yesterday.
The seven other weather stations will be set up at Panog (Shoghi), Arha (Narkanda), Jamog (Sunni), Shakrat, Bagain, Thana (Choupal). The DC directed the revenue officers to work in this direction so that these stations can be established in a time-bound manner.
“The setting up of these automatic weather stations is very crucial for accurate weather forecast, which is of immense importance to farmers and the local population,” he said.
The DC directed all the SDMs to prepare the Sub-Divisional Disaster Management Plan by February 20. He said while preparing these plans, the updated data must be taken into consideration so that no problem was faced during the disaster.
