NIT hosts seminar on cyber security

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) hosted a seminar on cyber security and risk management on its campus here today. Director HM Suryawanshi said the seminar was part of the institute’s commitment to foster an environment where innovation meets tradition. He said that cyber security and risk management had become a burning issue and needed to be addressed with the optimum use of science and technology.

The seminar featured a stellar line up of speakers from diverse fields, who captivated the audience with thought-provoking insights, innovative ideas and inspiring narratives. He added that engaging presentations by distinguished speakers, on cyber security, digital governance, cultural heritage preservation, modern UI/UX design and advancements in Ed-Tech were presented.

Col Ashokan K shared his experience as an Indian Army veteran and security expert. He emphasised the importance of cyber security and robust risk management strategies. Jagdeep Singh spoke on the intricacies of digital governance and policy-making, offering fresh perspectives on integrating technology with public administration. Yatin Pandit took the audience on a journey through Himachal’s rich cultural heritage, underscoring the importance of preserving history in a rapidly modernising world. Manu Arora captivated attendees with his innovative approach to UI/UX design, discussing how open-source development is reshaping modern applications. Yash Garg shared his vision for the future of education and career guidance, highlighting significant advancements in the Ed-Tech sector.

Dr Archana Santosh Nanoty, registrar of NIT, and DSW Dr Ashok Kumar, Dr Rakesh Sharma and Dr Kirti Mahajan were also present on the occasion.
