Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi today said that the Central Government had not taken any effective measures against Pakistan in the wake of the dastardly terrorist attack on civilians. “Sending back Pakistan nationals can’t be seen as a big step against terrorism,” he added.

He claimed that steps taken by the Central Government against Pakistan following the terrorist attack led to the closure of the Pakistan airspace, causing losses to Indian Airlines. “The Central Government should take concrete steps so that both our borders and our citizens remain safe,” he added.

The BJP has called Negi’s statement as unfortunate and urged Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu to seek his resignation. “The Congress and other parties have pledged support to the Central Government in whatever decision it takes in this matter. Negi’s statement is unfortunate and he should be removed as a minister,” said Sundernagar MLA RakeshJamwal.

Meanwhile, Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Vikramaditya Singh said that the Congress had cancelled its government and state-level ‘Save Constitution’ rallies but BJP leaders were continuing with their routine programmes. “BJP leaders have been seen doing ‘nati’. It’s unfortunate and they should be more sensitive,” he added.

Vikramaditya said that the Congress had assured the Central Government of support for any action against the Pahalgam terrorist attack. “There will be zero politics on the matter. Pakistan needs to be taught a lesson,” he added.
