No effort to repair Bemloe road

Despite a portion of the link road on the Bemloe-Shimla bypass being washed away during the monsoons, no effort has been made to repair the road. The result is that the road has been sinking more and more and could finally get completely washed away. The debris from the road is blocking half of the bemloe bypass road, posing a hindrance in the movement of vehicles. If the situation in the state capital is so bad, one can imagine the status of repair work in other parts of the state after the monsoon season — Preetam, Bemloe

Construction material dumped on highways

construction material dumped by contractors on state and national highways in Himachal is dangerous for commuters, especially those riding two-wheelers. At many places, the construction material dumped along the roadsides gets spread on the entire road. It is difficult to negotiate vehicles over construction material especially during night at places which do not have streetlights. In many cases, two-wheeler riders have met with accidents due to this. The PWD should penalise those who dump construction material along the roads. — Ravi Dhiman, Kangra
