No more power woes as Indora gets 33KV substation

A longstanding demand of thousands of electricity consumers in the neighbouring Indora Assembly constituency is soon going to be fulfilled as by the state government has earmarked Rs 10.50 crore for installing a 33KV power substation at Moki.

It is pertinent to mention that rural residents of Ghandran, Malahari, Ghagwan, Surdwan, Palakhi and Bhogrwan gram panchayats in Indora have been facing unabated and unannounced power cuts, low power voltage and interrupted electricity supply for the past over one decade.

Following the persistent public demand, local MLA Malinder Rajan had raised the issue with Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. Thanking the Chief Minister for approving funds, Rajan said after the installation for substation power supply situation to the area will improve to a great extent.

As per information, the Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Ltd (HPSEB) has recently floated an e-tender for the setting up of 33/11KV substation at Moki under Fatehpur electrical division in Kangra district. The last date for submitting bids was June 28. The bids will be opened on June 30, though the HPSEB is yet to announce dates for opening financial bids.

According to Ajay Gautam, Chief Engineer (Operations), HPSEB, Dharamsala, after completing all codal formalities, tender for construction of the substation would be awarded to the eligible bidder.
