No shortage of funds for development in state: CM
There is no dearth of funds for development works in the state and government is committed to provide best facilities to people. This was stated by Chief Minister (CM) Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu while inaugurating a new fire sub-station in Nadaun near here today. The CM said, “The fire station has two fire tenders. The station aims to enhance fire safety measures in the region, while ensuring better control over fire incidents and providing timely assistance in the area in the need of the hour.”
The CM also emphasised on the state government’s commitment to strengthen fire services across Himachal Pradesh. He said fire services would be modernised and Rs 19.40 crore would be released as the first instalment for this purpose. He assured that there was no scarcity of funds for the modernisation of the Fire Department in the state.
Sukhu said the state government had launched various policies and programmes for the betterment of the general masses. He urged people to avail benefits of welfare schemes to strengthen their economic condition. The Chief Minister also inspected an under-construction multipurpose sports complex at Kharidi ground in Nadaun which is being built at cost of Rs 65 crore.
The CM said this sports complex would provide world-class infrastructure for sports enthusiasts. He directed the authorities concerned to speed up the construction work of the project. He said facilities, including an eight-lane swimming pool, a shooting range, dedicated spaces for wrestling, boxing, Kabaddi, yoga, table tennis and badminton, would be available at the sports complex.
The CM said the government was focusing on promoting sports to channelise the energy of the youth in a positive direction. “This sports complex will be a testament to our commitment to nurture talent and foster the physical and mental well-being of our young generation,” he said.
He said similar multipurpose sports complexes were being constructed in other parts of the state to encourage active lifestyle and prevent youth from falling into the trap of drug abuse.
MLAs Sanjay Awasthi, Ranjit Singh Rana, Suresh Kumar, Kangra Cooperative Bank Chairman Kuldeep Singh Pathania, Kangra Co-operative Primary Agriculture and Rural Development Bank Chairman Ram Chander Pathania, Congress leader Pushpinder Verma and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
