Nod to projects worth Rs 73 crore for Banjar

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur dedicated development projects worth Rs 73 crore in Banjar of Kullu district through video-conferencing from Shimla today.

Thakur laid foundation stones of a lift irrigation scheme for Hurala Naraish Gram Panchayat to be completed by incurring Rs 10.63 crore. Lift irrigation schemes would be launched for Damoti, Walagad, Chethar, Khaba, Sinud, Hathithan, Khokhan, Haat, Bhatgran and Tuniseri villages.

He also laid stones for an additional building of PWD Rest House, Gada Gushaini and metalling of seven-kilometre Sainj-Deuri road and Neoli-Shaishar road. A helipad will also be constructed at Banjar.

Thakur also laid stones for the upgrade of the 12.5-km Bhuen-Diyar road and the Deuri-Shanad-Shrikot road.

He inaugurated a lift irrigation scheme for Reri, Mashanga and Dogadhar in Bhuntar. Thakur said Banjar had immense potential from tourism point of view. The government had started online booking facility for Forest Rest Houses at Shoja and Jibhi. — TNS
