Non Gazetted Employees’ Federation meets CM, demand employees’ welfare
A delegation of the Non Gazetted Employees’ Federation, led by Pradeep Thakur, met Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu in Mandi yesterday to present their demands. They submitted a memorandum of their demands to the CM.
Federation president Pradeep Thakur highlighted demands that included filling vacant positions in different departments to ensure smooth operations, regularisation of contract workers after two years, payment of pending dearness allowances, clearing arrears from the 2016 Pay Commission, addressing salary discrepancies across departments and providing old pension schemes for the Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation, District Council, and other departments.
“Other demands included increasing the retirement age for employees to 60 years, especially for Class IV workers, renaming positions in various departments and the immediate recruitment of multi-task workers and vaccinators in the Animal Husbandry Department. The federation has also sought a phased regularisation policy for employees appointed under the Chief Minister’s Health Livestock Scheme, reduction of contract period for water guards and hike in housing allowances for various employee groups,” said Thakur. He said the CM hade assured the delegation of addressing all their demands at the earliest.
