Novelist Rajan to get Srijan Samman Puraskar in Bali

Celebrated Hindi writer and novelist Rajendra Rajan will be honoured with the ‘Srijan Samman Puraskar’ at the 25th International Hindi Conference to be held on August 27 in Bali, Indonesia.

The award, instituted in memory of noted Odia writer and thinker Sachidanand Tripathi, is presented annually to distinguished litterateurs. This year, Rajendra Rajan has been selected in recognition of his outstanding contributions as a storyteller and for his distinguished editorship of the acclaimed literary magazine Iravati.

Rajan, who retired as Joint Director from the Himachal Pradesh Information and Public Relations Department, will receive a cash prize and a citation. The award will be presented by Dr Savita Mohan as part of the silver jubilee celebrations of the conference.

Rajan said he would be visiting Malaysia and Indonesia from August 23 to 31 and would present one of his stories at the conference on August 27. The event will also feature the release of Iravati’s special issues on poetry and memoirs.
