DAV Centenary Public School, Mandi, observed the investiture ceremony for the session 2021-22. It began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. As many as 24 students became members of students’ council. Riddhi Suyal and Prem Singh got the titles of head girl and head boy and were administered the oath with a promise that they would carry out their duties with integrity, faith and excellence. Principal Kuldeep Singh Guleria congratulated the new members and emphasised the need to be humble while carrying out responsibilities and motivated students to strive harder with a unified zeal for the betterment of the institution.
Workshop on plant health mgmt
Workshop on ‘Efficient plant health management for boosting farmers’ income’ was organised by Shoolini University, Solan. Chancellor PK Khosla stressed the use of latest techniques to make food pesticide free and increase its availability. Dr Celia Chalam, Head Division of Plant Quarantine, ICAR-NBPGR, emphasised the need of bio-security against transboundary pests and diseases to prevent external threat to sustainable agriculture.
Orissa Law varsity wins contest
The Centre for ADR and Professional Skills of Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla, in association with the Indian Institute of Arbitration and Mediation (IIAM), New Delhi, and Nani Palkhivala Arbitration Centre (NPAC), Chennai, organised its maiden National Mediation Competition online recently. National Law University, Orissa, emerged the winners as the client-counsel pair and Government Law College, Mumbai, won the best mediator award. Over 52 judges gave valuable feedback to the participating teams and guided them with the required skills for mediation.
