The nullah flowing through our village Amtar near Nadaun has turned into a dumping site. Members of the panchayat have turned deaf ears to our repeated requests. Two drinking water sources are also close to the nullah and the dumping of garbage is leading to contamination. The nullah merges into the Beas, polluting the riverwater.

Garbage dumping in the open has become a nuisance around the Kamna Devi temple in Shimla town. The civic authorities are not bothered to solve the problem. One can see monkeys rummaging through the garbage, littering roads and streets.

Overloading goes unchecked

Overloading of vehicles on National Highway 21 is common. The police and the RTO seem least interested in checking the practice. The authorities should take action against those violating traffic rules.

Is a civic issue bothering you? Are you agitated over the lack of concern? Is there something heartening that you feel needs to be highlighted? Or a picture which in your opinion ought to be seen by many, and not just you?
