Nurpur police district ranks first in Crime & Criminal Tracking Network Systems
The Nurpur police district has secured first rank in the Crime & Criminal Tracking Network Systems (CCTNS) for the fourth quarter, October to December, among all 14 police districts in the state.
It secured 33.34 points whereas Bilaspur and Lahaul Spiti districts stood 2nd and 3rd with 33.17 points each. The Kangra and Una districts ranked 13th and 14th with 27.81 and 27.90 points, respectively.
The CCTNS is a Central Government’s project launched in 2009 to improve the efficiency of policing but its ranking is undertaken at a state-level portal.
The project aims to create a comprehensive and integrated e-system for enhancing the effectiveness of policing. According to information, the Nurpur police district had been notified on August 1, 2022, and it ranked at the bottom in its first quarter of working (October to December 2022), but after two years of its existence, it has been ranked first among all 14 districts in the state.
While congratulating his personnel for this achievement, Nurpur SP Ashok Ratan said they had gone all out against drug and mining mafia in the district.
