A one-day nutrition tracker camp was held under the leadership of Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) Devi Chand, with the support of the District Programme Officer. The event saw the participation of all anganwadi workers and supervisors from the Pangi subdivision.

During the event, District Programme Coordinator Vikas Sharma provided detailed information about various government schemes run by the department, along with an overview of the upcoming Nutrition Month. He also explained the ‘Three Color Himachali Dishes Contest,’ where participants are required to create recipes of Himachali nutritious dishes and share a 5-minute video explaining their benefits, tagging the Women and Child Development Department's Facebook page. Twenty selected participants will be awarded Rs 1,000 each.

Additionally, Block Coordinator Sanjay Kumar gave an in-depth explanation of the Nutrition Tracker. The officials also elaborated about the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana and the Poshan Abhiyan. Assistant Director Seema Thakur interacted with the Anganwadi workers via video conference and encouraged them for their commendable work.

The camp aimed to spread awareness and improve the implementation of nutritional programmes in the region.

5-day training for ASHA workers in Holi

A five-day training programme on ‘Home-Based Care for Young Children’ (HBYC) was inaugurated today at the Community Health Centre in Holi, organised by the Health and Family Welfare Department, Chamba. A total of 26 ASHA workers from the region are participating in the training.

During the programme, ASHA workers will be trained to conduct five home visits for children aged 3 to 15 months. They will focus on promoting breastfeeding, introducing complementary feeding, and ensuring proper growth and development of the children. In addition, they will learn how to monitor common illnesses in children and ensure timely treatment to reduce the incidence of diseases and child mortality rates.
