Offensive post case: forensic report awaited

The Solan police is awaiting the report of forensic science department in a case registered against a Kashmiri student of a private university for posting an offensive post against the Army on his Instagram account.
The said student was cheering Pakistan and had posted an offensive post saying, “Zindabad Pakistan, Shame on India Army” after India was defeated by Pakistan in the T-20 cricket match.
Superintendent of Police(SP), Solan, Virender Sharma, while confirming the news, said a case under section 153 B and 505(2) of the IPC was registered against a B Pharmacy student of a private university on November 11 for posting an offensive Instagram post.
“His mobile phone was seized and sent for a forensic examination. Further action as per the report of the forensic lab would be taken against the student,” added the SP.
A fellow student had lodged a complaint against this offensive Instagram post to Kandaghat police station following which an FIR was registered, informed the SP.
