Officials sensitised about NPS in Chamba

A two-day training workshop on National Pension System (NPS), which was organised for drawing and disbursing officers (DDOs) and subscribers of Chamba district, was culminated here today.
The main objective of the training workshop was to create awareness among the DDOs and impart training to the subscribers. More than 110 DDOs participated in the workshop. The participants were apprised of the comprehensive information with regard to the NPS.
A thrust was laid from entry to exit level such as registration, DDO and subscriber login features, govt share bill, partial and final withdrawal, tax benefits and penalty provisions under the pension system.
Presiding over the workshop, District Treasury Officer (DTO), Chamba, TS Khanna said as of now, 6,215 subscribers were registered with the district treasury. Such workshops would also be organised at the sub-divisional level.
Khanna said the NPS was applicable to those employees who were recruited on or after May 15, 2003, in Himachal Pradesh. — OC
