On I-Day, Kangra team sets TB screening record
In a remarkable achievement on the occasion of Independence Day, Team Kangra has set a new benchmark in tuberculosis (TB) screening. At a Nikshay Shivir organised at Gugga Mandir, Saloh (Block Bhawarna), Kangra district, 471 chest X-rays were conducted, identifying 40 presumptive TB cases.
The camp was personally led by Block Medical Officer Bhawarna, Dr Naveen Rana, who ensured smooth operations, despite limited space and nearby Janmashtami Mela celebrations. Antriksh Dogra single-handedly operated the ultra-portable handheld X-ray machine with great patience.
Significant contributions were made by MHS Manohar, MHS Shanti Swaroop Parmar, Medical Officer Sulah Dr Harshita, Dr Akansha from Civil Dispensary Bhadhal Devi and a dedicated team of six ASHA workers from Health Sub-Centre Saloh. This achievement was made possible with just one ultra-portable handheld X-ray device, underscoring the team’s commitment and efficiency.
With this milestone, District Kangra continues its rapid progress towards the national vision of a TB Mukt Bharat, turning every challenge into an opportunity for stronger public health outcomes.
