The Block Resource Centre Coordinator (BRCC) recruitment exam, organised by Samagra Shiksha, has been rescheduled to April 6 following requests from teachers. Originally slated for March 23, the exam date was revised to accommodate the concerns of aspirants.

The written exam will be held in Shimla at 11 am, with candidates required to report to the examination centre by 10 am. Roll numbers have already been issued, and those who have not received theirs are advised to contact the official phone number listed on the Samagra Shiksha website. Candidates must also bring their certificates for eligibility verification on the exam day.

A merit list will be prepared based on the written exam results, and shortlisted candidates will proceed to an interview conducted by a committee chaired by the Secretary (Education) or their authorised representative. The final selection list will determine the appointments for the BRC Coordinator positions.

According to Samagra Shiksha officials, new recruitment rules have been introduced by the state government. Of the 282 positions, 50 per cent (141 posts) are reserved for primary school teachers. The remaining 50 per cent of the positions will be filled equally from the Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) category (25 per cent) and the Lecturer category (25 per cent). Previously, only TGT candidates were eligible for the BRC Coordinator role at the upper-primary level, but the revised rules now allow Lecturers to apply as well.

“To ensure transparency in the recruitment process, a written exam has been made mandatory, whereas previously, selection was based solely on interviews. Additionally, the appointment period has been extended from three to five years. Teachers appointed as BRC Coordinators will not be eligible for reappointment after their tenure,” said a Spokesperson of Samagra Shiksha, Himachal Pradesh.

Emphasising the importance of these positions, the spokesperson added, “BRCCs play a crucial role in implementing Samagra Shiksha programs at the block level, serving as a key link between schools and the District Project Officer.”
