On way to Prayagraj, 31 devotees injured in bus accident

A total of 31 persons were injured in the accident, six of them seriously, when a private bus carrying devotees to the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj overturned after being struck by a hydra machine in the Sirathu area of Kaushambi district in Uttar Pradesh, this morning.

Solan Deputy Commissioner Manmohan Sharma stated that the bus was en route from Arki subdivision when the incident occurred. The information was initially reported by the Sirathu Sub-Divisional Magistrate.

Among the injured, one person, 75-year-old Tulsi Ram Sharma from Dhar Brahmana in Arki subdivision, sustained grave injuries and is currently being treated in an intensive care unit. Fourteen others are receiving treatment at the Sirathu Community Health Centre, while 10 more are being treated at the Kaushambi district hospital.

Manmohan Sharma said the Solan district administration is in constant touch with the Kaushambi authorities to ensure proper medical care for the injured. He also confirmed financial assistance would be provided and the devotees would return once those injured have recovered.

Following the accident, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu instructed the Solan district administration to maintain contact with Kaushambi officials and facilitate timely medical support for the injured.

Arki MLA Sanjay Awasthi expressed his condolences over the accident. He said upon receiving the news, he immediately directed the district administration to establish contact with the relevant authorities and ensure swift medical aid. Awasthi assured the families of the injured assistance would be provided at every level and urged them to remain patient as recovery efforts continued.
