One dead in car accident in Shimla’s Rampur

A man has been killed after the car (HP 27 A 3990) he was travelling in plunged around 70 metre from the road in Rampur sub-divison in Shimla district.

The deceased has been identified as Kama Dorje, son of Chattar Singh and a resident of Nako village in Kinnaur district.

According to police, the accident took place on Friday when Dorje, who was travelling from Bhadrash to Rohru, lost control of the vehicle near Khanash Dhar. He died on the spot.

Rampur SDPO Naresh Sharma confirmed the report and said a case under Sections 281, 125(a) and 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, has been registered at the Rampur police station. Further investigation is underway.
