One held in Kasol hotel murder case

One of the individuals accused in the murder of a 23-year-old woman at a hotel in Kasol has been apprehended by Kullu police. Akash Deep Singh, a resident of Bathinda district, Punjab, along with his accomplice Gurpreet Singh, fled the scene in an SUV after abandoning the victim’s body in the hotel’s reception. They later left the SUV on the Kasol-Bhuntar road near Chharodnala and escaped using other means.

Kullu SP Karthikeyan Gokulachandran said an FIR under Sections 103 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nayaya Sanhita (BNS) has been registered. He said, “Akash Deep Singh has been arrested and his interrogation is underway to gather more information about his accomplice involved in the crime.” The SP said further details cannot be provided as the investigation is still ongoing.
