One more Covid death in Himachal, toll up to 34

The Covid-19 death toll in Himachal Pradesh climbed to 34 with a 68-year-old man, who was referred from Nahan to IGMC Shimla, succumbing to the viral infection on Monday.
DC, Sirmaur, Dr RK Pruthi, though, said it was a case of post renal transplant and the said patient also suffered from pneumonia and respiratory failure.
He was tested positive for coronavirus at Nahan and was admitted to the local medical college from where he had been referred to Shimla on August 26, he informed.
He will be cremated at Nahan on Monday as per the safety protocols.
Meanwhile, 10 new Covid-19 cases were detected in Sirmaur on Monday taking the tally in the district to 887.
Ten cases have been reported from Nahan, Bankala, Kanshiwala, Barmapapri, Banog and Kala Amb, said Dr Pruthi.
Those infected include five women and as many men in the age group of 14 to 67 years.
The number of active cases in the district is 399 while 577 people have been cured of the virus till now.
Himachal Pradesh had registered 164 fresh Covid-19 cases on Sunday, taking the infection tally to 5,945.
