One-year extension for Himachal Pradesh Technical University Vice-Chancellor

Prof SP Bansal, Vice-Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh Technical University here, has got extension for one year. His tenure was to be completed on June 11.
Prof Bansal had joined the university in June 2018. He had been VC of two universities in Haryana.
He was the only Vice-Chancellor, who had converted the HPTU from the affiliating university to teaching university and started over 15 new courses on its campus.
It was only during his tenure that the university could fetch TEQUIP grant of over Rs 20 crore for infrastructure development.
Thanking Bandaru Dattatreya, Governor, Prof Bansal said he would continue to improve the quality of technical education and ranking of the university. He was also thankful to Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur for extending his tenure.
