The Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla, in collaboration with the Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE), Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, organised a virtual workshop on ‘Curriculum on Rural Management’. WG Prasanna, chairman, MGNCRE, and Prof Nishtha Jaswal, Vice-Chancellor, HPNLU, Prof Chetan Chitalkar, Director, MGNCRE, stressed on the need to have special curriculum on the management (BBA/MBA) of village community and its resources for the overall development of the country. Prof Jaswal quoted Kautilya and his thoughts on the development of rural economy. She said rural economy was the soul of India and special efforts must be made to revive it.
SFI supports students, parents
The SFI has extended support to the student-parent forum in its fight against the “arbitrary fee” being collected by private schools. The SFI said the full fee being charged by private schools in the time of pandemic amounted to exploitation of students and parents. The students’ body said the decision should immediately be rolled back as it adversely affected lakhs of students and their parents. With many people losing their livelihood during the pandemic, the decision to allow schools to charge the full fee was against the students.
