The administration of the Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital today resumed OPD services after a gap of 10 days of shutdown aimed at decongesting the hospital to check the spread of coronavirus.
Meanwhile, Medical Superintendent Dr Janakraj said the IGMC had put 15 staff members of the hospital, who had nursed three Covid-postive cases, under quarantine for 14 days.
He said the patients could register at the OPDs from 8.30 am to 12 pm on all working days. “People should avoid unnecessary visit to the hospital for minor ailments for which they can get treatment at PHCs and civil hospitals,” he added.
Dr Janak said the IGMC had also started an e-clinic for patients who could avail themselves of consultancy health services from home.
The IGMC is also activating a tele-medicine service for patients of the remote region of the state.
He said the IGMC was prepared to take care of Covid patients as it had put in place all arrangements and had all the equipment needed under the Covid guidelines.
