Oral health awareness camp held in Chamba

The Department of Health and Family Welfare, Chamba district, under the aegis of the Chief Medical Officer organised an awareness camp today at DAV School, Chamba, as part of a month-long drive to mark the ‘World Oral Health Day 2025.’

The camp aimed to spread awareness about the importance of oral hygiene and its critical link to overall health. Dr Vaibhavi Gurung, District Programme Officer from the Health Department, addressed the students, emphasising how oral health was an integral component of general well-being. “A healthy mouth contributes to a healthy mind,” she remarked.

She advised students to adopt healthy oral habits such as brushing twice daily (morning and night), rinsing the mouth after consuming sweets, avoiding extremely hot or cold foods and minimising the intake of sugary and junk foods.

A poster-making competition was also organised for students. Hiranya secured the first position, Lavanya the second and Yashvi placed third.
