Police teams, accompanied by veterinary doctors from the Animal Husbandry Department, rushed to the mishap scene. The immediate focus of the rescue operation was to evaluate any remaining risks posed by the unstable terrain and ensure the safety of any surviving livestock.

Eyewitnesses recounted the chaos and devastation that unfolded as rocks cascaded down the slopes giving little time to the cattle to run for safety. Lahaul-Spiti DC Rahul Kumar said efforts were underway to support the affected families.
