Over 1L to get deworming medicine in Hamirpur dist

The Health Department would administer deworming medicine to 1,34,000 people up to the age of 19 in the district. This was stated by Deputy Commissioner Amarjit Singh while presiding over a review meeting of various health schemes.
He said major focus of the administration would be on programmes like diarrhoea control, National Deworming Programme and National Youth Health Programme.
The DC said the diarrhoea control programme begin on July 1 and over 28,955 children were covered so far. He added that 45,423 packets of ORS has been distributed in the district so far.
The DC directed the Jal Shakti Department to ensure the regular cleaning of water sources and storage tanks.
Singh said over 1 lakh people, including 29,831 children (upto 5 years), would be administered the deworming medicine in the district. He said the children, who missed the dosage, would be administered the medicine on August 16. The DC directed the Health Department to train nodal teachers to ensure the effective coverage of the programme.
District Health Officer Dr Sanjay Jagota, programme in-charge Dr Ajay Attri and other officials were present on the occasion.
