Over 770 benefit from Shahpur health camp

A multi-specialty health camp was organised at Shahpur Civil Hospital, under the banner of the “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar” (healthy women, empowered family) campaign, on Wednesday. The initiative aimed to provide accessible and specialised healthcare services to the local population, all under one roof.

Speaking about the event, Dr Kavita Thakur, Block Medical Officer, Shahpur Civil Hospital, said the camp saw the participation of three specialists from Tanda Medical College — from the Orthopaedics, Dermatology (skin) and ENT (Ear, Nose & Throat) departments.

Adding to the robust medical support, nine doctors from Shahpur Civil Hospital also participated, including specialists in Medicine, Paediatrics, Gynaecology, Surgery and Ophthalmology (eye care). The event marked a coordinated effort to reach out to the community with comprehensive health services.

The camp received an overwhelming response, with 776 individuals availing health services. Among them were 280 women and 496 men, who underwent medical check-ups across various specialties. All attendees were offered free consultations, medical advice and necessary medicines.

This initiative stood out not only for its scale but also for its impact. The people of Shahpur appreciated the efforts of the medical teams and expressed a strong desire to see more such health camps organised in the future. The event reinforced the campaign’s core message — that the health of women is fundamental to the strength and well-being of families and communities.
