The College of Basic Sciences at Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi University marked National Science Day 2025 with great enthusiasm. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof Naveen Kumar, was the chief guest at the event.
The theme for this year’s National Science Day was “Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science & Innovation for Viksit Bharat.” Prof Kumar distributed prizes to the winners of various competitions, including declamation, science quiz, poster making and rangoli. The first prize winners were: Varnika Saroch (Declamation Competition); Isha Saklani (Poster Making Competition); Sourabh Kaundal & Omisha Rajput (Science Quiz); Sourabh Kaundal & Shaiena Ranain (Rangoli Making Competition).
Prof Kumar congratulated the winners for their performances and stressed the significance of scientific innovation, interdisciplinary research and global collaboration. He highlighted the importance of these areas in India’s mission to become a global leader in science and technology. The celebrations aimed to inspire students to engage more deeply in scientific research and innovation.
A key highlight of the event was a series of lectures on Artificial Intelligence (AI), delivered by Vivek Sharma (Co-Founder, Instaheadshots & Magic Studio) and Rajat Dhariwal (Founder, AI Good). Their discussions on AI’s impact across industries captivated the audience, underscoring its growing relevance in scientific research.
