Palampur agri varsity marks 11 years of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan

Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya, Palampur, celebrated the 11th foundation day of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) with a series of activities centred on the theme “Sustainable Rural Development”. The event highlighted more than a decade of the university’s efforts in empowering rural communities through education, research and outreach.

UBA teams from various constituent colleges organised lectures, poster-making, slogan-writing and quiz competitions on the theme “My India, My Village.” These activities captured the essence of social responsibility and the university’s commitment to rural transformation.

Vice-Chancellor Dr Ashok Kumar Panda lauded the university’s Nodal Officer of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan and the college-level teams for their consistent efforts in implementing impactful village-level initiatives. He praised their role in connecting academic knowledge with grassroots realities and inspiring students to actively contribute to sustainable and inclusive national growth.

Dr Panda emphasised that the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan programme perfectly aligns with the university’s vision of bridging science, society and sustainability. The celebration concluded with a collective pledge to continue working toward the holistic development of rural India through innovation, education and community engagement.
