The College of Basic Sciences at Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya, Palampur, came alive with colours and excitement during a lively Freshers’ Day function to welcome the new batch of B.Sc (Hons) students in Life and Physical Sciences.

Organised by senior students, the event featured spirited cultural performances, creative skits and engaging games that filled the auditorium with cheer and camaraderie.

Vice-Chancellor AK Panda, who was the chief guest of the function, congratulated the newcomers and urged them to pursue a healthy balance of academics, research and co-curricular activities. “Freshers’ Day is not just a welcome, it marks the beginning of a lifelong journey of learning and friendship,” he added.

The spotlight of the function was on the newly crowned titleholders — Mr Fresher : Shikshit; Miss Fresher : Abha Sharma; Mr Personality : Amaan Wani; Miss Personality : Shivanshi; and Best Performer : Divyansh Mandhotra. Their vibrant participation, confidence and talent added charm to the event, making the celebrations a memorable start to the academic journey of the new batch.

Rajan Katoch, Dean of the college, expressed gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor for his encouragement and appreciated the organising team for their excellent efforts in making the event a success.
