Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh inaugurated a modern studio-cum-learning centre at the State Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Mashobra. The minister said the Centre had been constructed with the state-of-the-art equipment, which will benefit the participants coming here for training.

He said the centre would provide new direction to training and learning related to rural development and Panchayati Raj. “Through this centre, trainees will benefit from digital resources, online learning and practical experience. Additionally, this platform will also prove useful for panchayat representatives and officials,” he said. The minister hoped the initiative would not only improve the quality of training but will also accelerate the development works in rural areas and will play an important role in the empowerment of Panchayats.

He also inaugurated a state-level training programme for master trainers, jointly organised by the Panchayati Raj Department and the State Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Institute. The training was conducted under the Panchayats Act 1996 (PESA Act). He said the PESA Act was an important law, covering 163 panchayats in three districts of the state.
