Pangi Valley is set to benefit from improved snow-clearing operations with the introduction of a state-of-the-art truck-mounted snow blower machine, launched on Saturday by Pangi Residential Commissioner Raman Gharsangi.
Procured at a cost of Rs 2.11 crore by the Public Works Department, the machine promises to significantly enhance road clearance efforts during heavy snowfall in the region.
Highlighting its importance, Gharsangi said, until now, snow removal relied on earthmover machines, which were time-consuming and less efficient. The new snow blower will expedite the process, ensuring faster restoration of road connectivity in the valley. This initiative aims to not only strengthen road infrastructure but also streamline movement and emergency services during the harsh winter months.
Designed to tackle the valley’s challenging geography, the machine is expected to provide much-needed relief to local residents by minimising road blockages and enhancing accessibility.
