Paonta Sahib to host grand Holi fair from March 13-22

Paonta Sahib is all set to celebrate its renowned Holi Fair with grandeur this year. Organised by the Municipal Council, the fair will begin on March 13 and conclude with a traditional wrestling competition (dangal) on March 22. This decision was finalised in a meeting chaired by Paonta Sahib Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Gunjeet Cheema with Municipal Council president Nirmal Kaur and other officials in attendance.

The fair will feature three grand cultural evenings, with performances by renowned artistes. To ensure a high-quality line-up, auditions will be conducted for performers and the selection process will be announced within the next three days. The names of the artistes scheduled to perform will also be revealed soon.

In addition to cultural programmes, the fair will host a variety of other events such as flower show, dog show, painting and other competitions. A special blood donation camp will also be organised in collaboration with the Red Cross Society.

SDM Gunjeet Cheema confirmed that preparations for the fair are already in progress. A follow-up meeting is scheduled for February 24, where bidding for amusement rides, stalls and lighting arrangements will be finalised.
