A new and luxurious park is set to be developed near the sewage drain adjacent to the Biroja Factory in Nahan, the district headquarters of Sirmaur. This upcoming project aims to attract tourists to the town while providing local residents with a scenic space for recreation and leisure.

On Saturday, Nahan MLA Ajay Solanki, accompanied by the Executive Officer of the Municipal Council, inspected the construction site located along NH-907A near the Biroja Factory. During the visit, the MLA highlighted a safety concern regarding a boundary wall being built by a contractor at a sharp curve. Declaring it a ‘black spot’, he directed its removal, citing potential risks of accidents due to the wall’s height and location.

The park, planned to cover an 80-metre stretch near the sewage drain, has received funding of approximately Rs 1.11 crore from the Urban Development Board. The construction contract, valued at Rs 84 lakh, has been awarded to Atin Bansal Construction. Executive Officer Sanjay Tomar confirmed that the remaining budget will be utilised for beautification and additional features in the park.
