Parveen Kumar won the zila parishad seat from the Baghera ward of Sujnapur constituency of the district in the byelection, the result of which was declared today. He defeated his nearest rival, Pyar Chand, with margin of 61 votes. Parveen Kumar secured 1,964 votes while Pyar Chand got 1,923 votes. District Returning Officer Amarjit Singh said Kumar was elected for the ZP. In other byelections, Karamveer Singh was elected president of the Bhakera gram panchayat, Naresh Kumar and Ajay Kumar were elected vice-presidents of the Swahal and Bhadrol gram panchayats, respectively, and Kamaljit Singh, Nisha Devi, Chain Singh and Yograj Singh were elected ward members of Rail, Nahlawin, Baragran and Barsar gram panchayats, respectivelyareas.
